The Luberon at your fingertips

One of Luberon Lub'heureux's great assets is its central location.

From the cottages, you can easily explore in all directions:

• towards Gordes and Sénanque Abbey, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue,
• towards Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Lacoste and Oppède-le-Vieux,
• towards the Provençal Colorado of Rustrel,
• towards Sault and the Lavender Route,
• towards Saignon, Lourmarin, and the villages of the Southern Luberon,

• towards the Provençal markets and hilltop villages that make the Luberon famous.

   

In the morning, set off to explore a village or a market. At midday, return for lunch on a terrace, enjoy the pool, or let the little ones take a nap. Then head out again for another discovery in the afternoon. No need to dedicate a whole day and a long drive to several visits. Here, you can explore the Luberon region from the cottages, at your own pace.

The best of the Luberon… and the pleasure of doing nothing

People often come to Luberon Lub'heureux with a long list of wishes: to discover Gordes, to explore the ochres of Roussillon, to admire the lavender fields, to visit the Provençal markets or to explore the most beautiful villages of the Luberon.

And all of this is within easy reach.

But as the days go by, the holidays often take on a different rhythm. A swim before lunch. A nap under the large oak trees. A book by the pool. A game of pétanque with the family. An aperitif at the pool house while the children play in the garden.

Then there's this little phrase we hear regularly:

"So, are we really going to go sightseeing this afternoon? We're so comfortable here..."

Perhaps this is the Provençal art of living.

Take your time. Enjoy the moment. Alternate between exploration and relaxation without ever having to choose. And when it's time to leave, another comment often comes up:

"Next time, we'll book for two weeks."

For me, the Luberon has something rare about it.

In a world that is constantly accelerating, it reminds us of the pleasure of taking our time.

Time for a coffee on a terrace. Time for a visit to a Provençal market. Time for a shared meal under the trees. Time to watch the children play in the garden rather than on a screen. Time to do nothing, without feeling guilty.

The Luberon is a bit like stepping out of the 21st century. And this experience has become invaluable.
